Review by hotel critic
We were drawn to the promises of family-friendly amenities, which sounded great in theory. Upon arrival, however, we faced some challenges. With five of us in a cramped room meant for four, we struggled with a small pull-out mattress in the kitchen area. Not ideal for family bonding, to say the least! Safety was a significant concern, too. A fire broke out in a neighboring room, and we learned there was no functioning alarm system to alert us. Instead, hotel staff relied on a simple flashing light and verbal announcements, which felt inadequate during a scary situation. While it was nice to be near the beach, access was less glamorous than advertised-through a messy storm drain. We discovered there were fees for the supposedly private beach. In the end, while it was a memorable experience in terms of learning about what to avoid, I wouldn't recommend Residence Cherie for families looking for a seamless vacation. There are certainly better options out there!
